Calacatta Viola
Code · CVI-109
Large milky-white and pale grey fragments are set like a mosaic in a dark, almost black matrix, while cream and beige grains and fine gold-rust veins add warmth to the surface. Its brecciated structure gives every slab a distinctive, striking composition.
Calacatta Viola is a marble quarried in the Apuan Alps of Tuscany, Italy. It formed as limestone sediments were metamorphosed under heat and pressure over millions of years; its brecciated texture comes from marble fragments that fractured and fused together again during this process.
It makes a strong statement on feature walls, in bathrooms, on vanity tops, around fireplaces and on bespoke furniture. As a marble, it is sensitive to acidic substances; regular sealing is recommended.
